Do you know if they’ve been rewound? The cloth wiring I thought was pretty much phased out in ‘68 as well. Could they be older than 75 maybe?

I wish I could tell you but I'm not an expert in pickups. They came out of a 1961 P bass with no info on them, other than what looks like a 75 stamp on the pickup.

So just curious what you heard them in, why you’ve decided to move on from them, any thoughts you might have about how you’d describe them and if you have any sound clips or videos I could hear them on.

However I’ve read 70’s pups can be hit or miss so I was excited to find your set of that the owner knows sound a function properly. Plus 75 is my birth year and 78 is my wife’s birth year so it would be a cool way to complete the bass. Everything else is pretty much original :)

Hey Billy! I’m Josh. So i just took possession of a ‘78 P with no pickups installed but came with some vintage 70’s cream Dimarzio’s and an unknown vintage set. I currently installed the unknowns and it sounds pretty awesome but I’m really wanting to take this thing to period correct.

Hi! These pickups came out of my 1961 P bass that's were in it when I purchased the bass. They sounded killer but I had an endorsement with Aguilar at the time so they sent me their new P bass pickups to demo and they're still in the 61. I don't have any sound clips or demos but they sound just like my pickups in my 78 P bass that are stock. Hope this helps!
