BaCH TH-1 Non- Reverse Thunderbird from the third production run. Set neck contruction
The bass has been modified from stock as follows:
New Mike Lull Thunderbird pickup
Rewired with CTS 250K pots and an .047 Cap.
New PG, from God of Thunder59 - heat stamped 'Bird design.
Refinned black headstock.
Additional strap button at neck heel.
The bass has a ding on the back side of the upper 'bout, this damage was caused in shipping from the Czech Republic to the U.S. see the photo. As it's shown in the photos the bass has a non-stock Gibson truss rod cover, the bass will ship with a plain black BaCH one.
Tonally the bass is tight and similar to a P, but the Lull pickup has the vintage Thunderbird growl you're not going to get anywhere else, the action is fairly low and plays nicly fingerstyle or with a pick.
The Non-Reverse variation of the Thunderbird shape does not balance well, the headstock will dive! So if a perfectly balancing bass is your goal this one is not for you. ( I'd rather be very upfront about this than have it be a bad surprise to a potential buyer.)
No case included, the bass will fit a modified Epiphone Thunderbird case.
