Up for sale is my beautiful Roscoe LG3005 fretless. I love this bass and it is easily the best fretless I've ever played (with the best B string of any bass to boot). However, it has become apparent that I am more in need of a fretted bass at the moment (which is why the money from this is going towards a brand new fretted Roscoe ;)).

It has a spanish cedar body, a burl redwood top (with the added bonus of some sick flame), a maple/purpleheart neck and an ebony fingerboard ($1000 upcharge these days). The serial number is 3380 which places it somewhere in the late 90's (for reference my LG2000 is serial number 3142 and it was built in '96).

It has a few dings on it, and there's flaws under the finish on a few of the burls. You honestly can't notice them from more than a foot or two away. I took it by the Roscoe shop a few weeks ago and got a full setup including reangling the neck pocket so the action is superb and it mwahs for days. It's strung with a virtually new set of DR Sunbeams.

Looking for $1500 + shipping.

This is a seriously amazing bass. Sounds sweet and plays very easy. Great neck on it too. Not too many 5 string necks are easy for me to play, but this one just feels good in your hands. Bump!

It really does. This is the only 5 string I can say I've truly felt comfortable playing, which is why I'll be sticking with Roscoe for my next one.

When you say that they adjusted the neck angle, do you mean that they added a shim? Very interested in the bass.

Thanks,
Jeff Gray

Thanks! If it had frets, it would be going nowhere. ;)

When I took it by for the setup, they took it in the shop and routed some wood out of the neck pocket. This has a similar result to shimming the neck while still keeping full neck/body contact. It's made it much easier to get low action on the bass.
