I've used this to overcome the uselessness of the tone knob on my passive fender. Has 16 capacitors to give you 16 gorgeous tones. I like it so much I'm gonna get the onboard version installed in my bass.

I actually use this little gadget, much more than any pedal I've had. It's the bass version, like new.

ToneStyler BASS and Micro Pedal II BASS

The ToneStyler BASS™ is the lowest-voiced version of the original ToneStyler ®. This unique control shifts the pickup’s resonant frequency and adjusts the treble roll-off point in sixteen 0.44 octave steps. Works with all passive bass pickups - no batteries required! 100% pure analog tone – ZERO noise – aerospace grade construction and components. Maximum capacitance value: .1µF

The EQ range of the ToneStyler BASS has been extended two octaves lower than the ToneStyler STD, which provides additional resonance selections in the upper bass & low midrange harmonics. The BASS model is ideal for shaping & enhancing the pickup response in all passive bass guitars.

Wait! Can't this item be disassembled, stripped of it's outer casing, then installed in your bass? Or is the shaft diameter all wrong. Or?

Regardless, I'm semi-interested. Let me know.

I'd be very surprised if this was not the onboard version stuck in a box, but I don't know for sure. Hell maybe I should try to pull it out and install it.

Cool thing about this is you can switch it between multiple basses...but I'd still just rather have it onboard so I don't have to mess with extra cables, etc. I've become a one-bass guy for the most part,I bought the pedal version to try it out without performing bass surgery. It's a small miracle, I'm ready to just have it installed permanently.

I came to that conclusion after reviewing their online material. Be cool if you could retro-fit it into your bass. I'm thinking this unit is similar to the 4-position rotary control Villex has for his passive bass and ERB applications. Further tweaks are obtainable with his standard mid-boost/cut rotary pot controls.

If I have the opportunity for another ERB custom build, I may well elect to have the on-board version of this installed. Good luck!

Did you try this in a multi pedal setup by any chance? In other words, how does it sound at the beginning or end of a chain? Just curious.

always at the beginning...It's a wildly improved tone control so that seemed like the logical place.

I sold all my pedals. I kept this :)
