FINGERBOARD: 24-Fret Quartersawn Morado/Pau Ferro Fingerboard with Genuine Mother of Pearl Side Dots
ELECTRONICS: Smith Preamp Bass,Midrange & Treble with Pickup Blend and Master Volume Control (Made in U.S.A.)
PICKUPS: Smith J-945 'Stacked Coil' Humbucking 'J' Pickups
FINISH: Classic Hand Rubbed Dutch Varnish Finish over Stradivari Gold Oil ("Ken's Secret Sauce")
BRIDGE: Smith Quick String Release Bridge (QSR) Machined from Solid Brass (Made in U.S.A.)

Bass plays and sounds great, I just picked up another Smith 5 and dont need 2 Smith 5s. Trades ok as long as at least $800-1000 is coming this way. Please note sell price does not reflect trade value of around $1850

Never played a jazz ken ..how do these sound compared to the regular kens???

It has the classic Smith tone, I own 3 Smiths and this one is capable of the same tone as the BSR with soapbars, I just eq them differently

Pms replied, bass in great shape, no visible dents or dings, the only noticeable imperfection is the bridge pickup cover is cracked which does not affect the playability or tone.

I own a BSRJ-5 and a BT-6. The BSRJ5 is a fantastic sounding bass, but it is not quite as modern sounding as the models with soapbars. That is not a bad thing though, as the tone with the J pickups is amazing. Plus, you can get fairly close thanks to the amazing Ken Smith 3 band EQ.

These are truly great basses.
