For Sale: Bergantino 3x8 Custom cab. I got this directly from Jim maybe 5-7 years ago or so. Its a cool little cab, but it doesn't get much use from me. Features two front firing 8" and one rear firing 8" and a tweeter.

Can you explain what the use of the rear firing 8" is for? What applications would a cab like this have?

It's a small bass cab. The general idea was to have the rear speaker act like a monitor. I found it useful for small gigs to have a speaker pointed at the drummer.

Honestly, its not a great cab to pair with anything else (and I'll spare you the diatribe about mixing speaker sizes--plenty of that already on TB). Its a nice standalone cab but it is so different in its design that you probably would not have the best results.

I disagree with the diatribe about mixing speaker sizes for my own reasons, mostly based on about 30 years of live playing experience. But it it such a unique design, I'll agree with you about it not pairing well with other cabinets.

I'm glad to hear this little Bergantino freak of nature has found a home. I had a chance to buy an older 15" PA type the Jim built before the HT115 but I passed because it was too heavy.
