Price drop to $$SOLD shipped OBO!
For sale is a Hohner B2AFL Steinberger-licensed bass. I have two so I am selling one of them in an effort to clear clutter. If this were my only one I would keep it as is a bass I cannot live without!
This bass in essentially a Steiny XL2 copy with certain "deluxe" features which make these Hohner's favored over Spirits for many players.
First, the bass features a 2 band preamp. The circuit can be bypassed if you prefer to play passive. When the preamp is engaged by the switch, there is an LED light that indicates you are in active mode which is very cool. And the preamp can be fine tuned via a trim pot accessed in the flip up battery compartment. I love this feature and the sound of the preamp is great. Lots of tone.
The other nice feature is that the bass has an ebanol fingerboard. For the uninitiated, ebanol is a sort of synthetic ebony. It is hard and dense ergo similar sound characteristics. I happen to love ebanol boards, especially for fretless basses such as this one. You get lots of MWAH!
Otherwise this is pretty much a standard XL2 design. Same shape, has the folding leg rest, two EMG Select soap bars and V, V, stacked T configuration.
This one is pretty clean. A couple of scratches and small dings as shown but nothing noticeable to your audience. Over all in very good condition and a nice clean axe. This one also had Schaller strap locks installed which is a plus.
I am asking $SOLD! shipped CONUS OBO for this. Bass comes in a guitar gig bag. If you are international, PM me first as we will have to figure out the cost of overseas shipping which you will have to pay.
Pics below, thanks for looking. If you have any questions, PM me.
