SOLD. i know that i'm going to regret this but i'm offering my super clean 1971 Sunn 2000S bass head (aka the 'Noel Redding amp), up for sale since I haven't been using it for a while. IMO, this is the holy grail of 100% tube bass amps and it took me along time to find one in this condition. To me, this is the most desireable (and rare) version of the 2000S since it's the SS rectified one that offers a little more power and headroom. I went all the way thru it from input jack to ouput jack, replacing all of the filter caps with OEM ones. you won't find a better one that needs NOTHING and is ready to gig with for the next 30 years).

the vintage Coliseum 1x18 (w/original Cerwin Vega 4 ohm 18") is also for sale, and i can sell them together but i'm going to start a thread for it by itself in case someone wants to split up the set.

hmmm, john those two small trannies are interesting; is one a filament tranny and the other a choke? very unusual, just curious is all. that is The cleanest 2000 i've ever seen

wow, that sure makes for some smoooove incoming ac. my friend has a 2000s as clean as that (so he says, i can't remember) but with two of the single 15 cabs with their original covers. has the original 2-15 matching cab too. and he wholeheartedly concurs with your opinion of the 2000s as being the ultimate tube bass rig. he also owns five original svt rigs, (two of them flatback cabs) and two 16ohm blonde showman/double jbl d140 rigs, among other things (two B18's, four B15's, five bf showman/dual showman, and two fender 400PS's). so, afaic, for you and him to say that about the 2000s is all the expert opinion i'll ever need!

John: there may be some TB'ers looking at this amp wondering if the two output jacks are 4-ohm and 8-ohm, or 8-ohm and 16-ohm (since I read somewhere that there were two versions of this amp, depending on what cab or cabs originally came with the amp).

Since you are running the 4-ohm 18" cab, I presume this amp is the 4-ohm and 8-ohm configuration. But I thought I would ask just so the TB'ers know for sure.

yep, this one has the 8 and 4ohm outputs, but AFAIK all 2000S's have a 16 ohm output tap in them too. it's just not wired to the ouput jacks.
