For sale is my Ernie Ball Music Man Reflex 5 HH Bass Guitar with the 2010/2011 Roasted Maple "Ball Family Reserve" package. This bass arrived new to me in February 2011. From what I have been told, this is the only Reflex 5 HH in the world with this configuration. Price for this instrument when it was new was around $2500. I am selling this for $2000 shipped in the continental US.
The Reflex bass is made of an ash body with a mahogany tone block stretching from the neck pocket to the bass of the bridge. Maple neck with a smaller headstock than most other Music Man basses with custom lightweight tuners and a compensated nut. The electronics of this instrument feature two Music Man ceramic humbuckers with a state-of-the-art switching system that offers 4 different pickup options in both parallel and series along with an active/passive preamp system with four equalization points on the active preamp. The active preamp is powered by two 9v batteries.
The Ball Family Reserve package adds a few premium appointments to this instrument not seen on standard production models. The roasted maple neck is beautiful and finished to a high gloss that is smooth to play on. The ebony fingerboard is adorned with mother of pearl inlays and the "Ball Family Reserve" 12th inlay. The body is finished with the Black Sugar finish, which has small gold flakes added to the finish for a subtle yet beautiful look (looks black from far away, but you see the gold specks up close. The body gets a sort of shimmer from a distance).
