To make use of my brand spanking new supporting membership (that only took a decade), I'm offering two fairly radical basses.
The first is an Ibanez RB690 from 1986. It's all black, finished neck and plays like a dream. Pretty light weight and somewhere in between a jazz and a precision as playability goes. It has active electronics and probably one of grittiest sounding pre-amps I've ever heard (depending on your musical inclinations, this could be a good or a bad thing). Was my standby bass for almost a decade but just not seeing much use these days.
Secondly, I've got a Yamaha BBN5 up for sale. A surprisingly nice sounding instrument, very smooth and mellow. Two passive J-style pups and standard j-bass setup for the controls. I've only used it for a little while, but it's just not what I'm looking for in a 5-string.
Both basses are a little road-worn and have a few dings and dents but nothing that affects playing/sound. All dings are purely cosmetic.
I'd prefer to trade both of these for something slightly higher-end. I'm a Warwick guy but I'm open to any reasonable offer. The worst thing I'll say is no. Might consider selling them to different buyers if the trade thing doesn't work out. I'd like to get $225 for the Yamaha and $325 for the Ibanez, both negotiable. I'll pay for shipping in Canada and 1/2 for the states. If you want to take them both, we can work out a deal. Paypal preferred.
