This is a super nice Musicman SUB 4 string bass. This is the Musicman SUB made in San Luis Obispo California not Indonesia. The follow modifications were made:
I stripped the neck completely, made my own "Stingray" waterslide decal and finished the neck in vintage tint Nitro Lacquer. The neck sports a very nice Rosewood Fingerboard. I also stripped the body and re-shot it with Nitro Lacquer and Nitro Lacquer matte topcoat. The other upgrades are as follows:
1. Replaced the MM tuners with American Hipshot tuners.
2. Replaced the pickup with the very nice (and accurate) Nordstrand MM 4.2 pickup.
3. Replaced the the preamp with the matching Nordstrand 2 band preamp.
4. Replaced the cheap pickguard with a new white pickguard.
5. The battery box was cracked so I also replaced it with a new battery box that I ordered from Ernie Ball in California.
This is a fantastic sounding and playing bass with killer Stingray booty for days. The neck just feels great and it weigh's in right at 9 lbs. give or take an oz. or two. Will throw in a brand new Fender double gig bag.
Now, I am currently living in Canada with my wife who is from here. We have been wanting to move here for awhile and have finally done so. The reason I'm saying this is because the bass is currently in Minneapolis with my Son. I figured to leave it there until I could afford to have it sent to me but, the wait for my "Permanent Residence Card" is going to be longer than we had hoped and since I can't work until I get it well, you know the rest of the story.
I have been a TB member in good standing for some time here on the forums and have bought and sold a fair number of basses and such to other TB members... check my feedback. My Son will ship the bass to you from Minneapolis. I have packed and shipped basses and the bass is in the box ready to go. The price is $500.00 shipped to anywhere in the lower 48 United States. It will be insured. This is a good price on this bass and if cash wasn't so tight for me I would not be selling. It is one of the best modded basses I have put together and I thought I would never have to sell it. But I guess things change.... Thanks!
