G&L Lynx with Moses Graphite Neck
This is one awesomely aggressive piece. I bought it last fall to act as a twin to my '83 SB-2, and it certainly proved itself to be up to the challenge. It's infinitely playable with a more jazz-like neck and some nice body contours. The sound is still prototypically 80s g&l, though I find this particular setup trades a little bit of the BOOM of my sb-2 for an edge and articulation that really fills out a mix. I assume this is a mixture of a lower body weight and the Moses neck. It would not be leaving my care, but I'm doing much more drumming than bass-ing lately, and I just dropped a ton of cash on new cymbals.
It's obviously very non-original. The pots have been replaced, but the originals are included. The bass has been refinished in a satin black. It's an interesting finish to play on, because it never feels sticky. Very low friction. Pickups are obviously original. On the whole, it's in really good shape. There is a small ding (pictured) near the input jack. You'll also notice that somebody really went to town on the neck when it was put on. It actually sits perfectly, but if you look up close you'll definitely see that it was carved down.
