Im putting up my classic Spector NS-4CR for sale only. $899 shipped CONUS. PayPal preferred. I hate to part with it but I need to pay for a recent acquisition. This is a great bass and solely responsible for my starting to play four string basses again.
According to PJ Rubal (Spector Vice President and Director of Sales & Artist Relations) this NS-4CR was made in mid-1999 and is a transition (read rare) bass. One of the first European basses produced after reacquiring Spector trademarks back from Kramer." Hence the SS logo but MOP dot inlays on the neck.
The bass is in great condition. A little buckle rash on the back, very small scuff on the top of the headstock, etc. but nothing major and certainly nothing to be seen from the front. What youd expect from a well taken care of bass of this vintage. Its a beautiful classic bass; black with gold hardware. Bridge has a gold matte finish and is solid brass from before the Euros went with a lighter alloy. It is a neck thru design with brass nut and has a solid maple body with EMG active P/J pickups and an EMG BTS preamp running at 18v. This baby plays and sounds great!
*** Update 10/11/2013 ***
I've decided to sweeten the pot here and include a second preamp you can install if you want, or put it into another bass.
It is a Korean NS-2A circuit, a copy of the famous SPECTOR® USA NS-2 9v circuit.
