I'm selling my Modulus Quantum 5. Modulus has gone out of business so the used market is your only way to get one of these beautiful USA made basses.
I bought this bass new in 1994 so I'm the only owner. Serial number is 941526. The bass has wings that are Flame Koa front and alder back. The middle is two pieces of maple with Purple Heartwood in the center. It has the usual Modulus graphite neck. It also has EMG pickups and preamp. You can see how beautiful the wood is in the pictures. The condition is very good. The case is beat up some but all the latches work fine and it is as sturdy as ever (all cosmetic) The inside of the case is still in great condition and even has some lingering "new Modulus" smell.
It plays like a dream and sounds fantastic! It is strung with DR Hi-Beams and I'll include two more new sets of strings with the bass.
The bass didn't come with a truss rod and in all the years I've played it, I never had the need for one. The graphite neck is rock solid. It's set up with nice low action and no fret buzzing (and I'm a pretty aggressive player). I've used different strings on it and the neck never budged.
