Here is a stunning Roscoe Century.
Exhibition grade quilt maple top over ash. I believe the middle layer is Wenge.
Maple neck with purple heart stringer and spalted purple heart board.

This one has several unique features including:
• 34" scale
• Custom abalone Roscoe "R" on the headstock
• Upgraded Demeter pre with Bartolini JJ pickups.
• Custom neck with thinner profile
• Oil finish

Superb feel and balance. Unique Roscoe for sure. Sounds as great as it looks. Capable of super low action with excellent intonation all the way up the board.

Fantastic condition with minor imperfections including a couple tiny dents, tiny chips around one of neck bolts, and thin scratches near pickups. See pics. Case is in excellent condition too.

This is an unusual Roscoe with very cool specs. $2650 shipped CONUS. Trade value a bit higher and trade interests include pre-Gibson Tobias 5, Ken Smith 5 or maybe something like the following with cash coming my way — Dingwall Super J, Valenti, Sadowsky Metro 5... Let me know what you have.

The quilt is insane its so deep. I've never seen quilt so intense. People want to touch it to see what it feels like. This one is tough to photograph so here's original pics from Rocketmusic

That quilt is amazing. I have never seen anything so dramatic. It reminds me of flying over sand dunes in the desert. Even on your shots looking at it down low from the side it looks like it is coming out of the wood. Very Very Cool.

What would you compare the tone to? Or, how would you describe it?

Thanks. It's a looker. As for tone it is definitely Jazz bass inspired. But has a modern take on it. The frequency shift switches on the Demeter add more versatility.

FYI: the switch on the Demeter preamp is not a frequency selection, it is a Q switch - takes it from a wide to narrow bandwidth (the distance on either side of the center frequency that the control affects).

Killer bass, sorry to see you letting it go, but it will be making someone really happy! GLWTS!

Could you explain the configuration of the preamp? I see it has 2 switches.

Thanks

Volume
Pickup Pan
Mid boost/cut
Bass/Treble stack boost
One switch is called the Q switch that shifts the mids (see Gard's post further up in the thread) and the other shifts the bass to a slight low mid bump.

That's a piece of art right there. Part of me wishes I could afford it, but really I'd be afraid to take it out anywhere to play...
