35", 18v active pre with mid sweep, ABM brass brigde, adjustable spacing 17 - 18mm, ash wings, solid ash back plates, white bubinga top, matching headstock and truss rod cover, maple neck with walnut stringers (neck thru) birdseye fretboard, custom dot inlays, hipshot tuners, walnut knobs
This may be the most custom Cirrus made to order. I've looked at a lot of them over the years but have never seen one with ash wings on the back, or a white bubinga top - the outer sapwood of the tree. The top has a different hue depending on what angle you're at and the lighting. Most also have purpleheart stringers instead of walnut on the maple necks.
When I got the bass there was a lot of dirt on the fretboard and the finish had yellowed a lot. I recently sanded it down lightly and refinished it with a tung oil finish so it looks like new. I did not sand the front of the headstock. There is evidence of fretwork being done before I got it as there are small grooves in the edge of the fretboard at the ends of the frets where the frets had been filed.
I am mostly interested in another Cirrus 5 of the same caliber, most likely a tiger eye model with ebony board. If you have something you know plays similar to a Cirrus I'll consider it. I want 5 strings, 24 frets, 17-18mm spacing, full fretboard access, neck thru preferred. Looking for around $1300-$1400 trade value based on new cost around $2200-$2400 and used around $1100-$1200.
