Bass plays and sounds great and functions as it should.

Neck is straight. Truss rod works fine.

Pickups are original. Preamp electronics are original. 2 Vol, 2 Tone, 2 three way Q toggles.

Comes with original hard shell case. Functions fine with usual 30+year wear.

Also comes with original grey pin cable and Alembic preamp power supply box. Both function fine. The writing on the power supply box is worn off but you can still make out what it says.

Minor changes its gone thru for the better..July 2014 it was refretted and plekd by Phil Jacoby at Philtone in Baltimore. Action and playability is great. Limited playing and no real fret wear at all since. One of the battery connectors was also replaced at this time as well.

Also has new input jack installed which I got direct from Alembic. Its wired for mono. Both 1/4" jack w 2-9volts and powered pin cable connector preamp setup work fine.

Missing 1 brass screw on the small battery compartment,,,which Im sure could be found at a local hardware shop.

Cosmetically its in very nice shape given its age and amount its been played. No major scrapes or flaws. there are the typical swirl marks and light surface scuffs from normal wear. I couldnt get them to show up in any pics with my camera phone.

There is one small ding ( 3/16") on the back of the neck. It is only finish deep and is hard to feel. Please see pic

There is also very minor chips just in the top finish in areas on the side/edge of the fret board. They are hard to see and feel. I will try to get some pics posted shortly of it.

$5500. 11/14 Price Drop $5000. 11/26 price drop- $4500

Only Trades condsidered would be 5 string Alembic with same or similar electronics or certain 5 string Modulus basses.

Ships to ConUS only. It will be well packed and fully insured.
My ebay ref is sshlann
I think thats about all,,feel free to ask any questions or request more pics.

Nice bass bump. Phil does excellent work. I had him do the same on one of my basses.

I privately own and operate a local musical instument repair shop.
No trouble getting high praise on a classic like this. Beyond the degree to which they already have, I think these will go down in history as some of the finest musical instruments ever made.

GLWTS... hope she goes to a good home.

Can you please briefly explain how the electronics work? Can it be plugged straight into an amp with normal cord? Or does it need to be connected through the preamp box? It's active? I know the bass(?) and/or preamp box need batteries? Thanks!

yes can be plugged straight into amp using standard 1/4' jack cable. two 9 volt batteries are needed in the bass to use this way. So yes active.

no batteries needed in bass if you use the pin cable into the preamp box, then output to amp. The preamp box plugs into standard wall outlet, doesnt take batteries.

hope that helps.

Also going to open up for trades...Im fairly specific. Looking for 5 string Alembic with same or similar electronics. Also would consider certain 5 string Modulus
