Sad day for me, but I have to let my Atkinson PJ4 go. Grabbed this from swpyne last year. It has rarely left it's case, probably no more than 10 hours on it since I picked it up, none of which were gigged. Bass is still in immaculate condition. I have a 13 month old which limits my playing time and some unexpected dr. bills are the only reason for letting this thing go. $1049 shipped

What can I say, this bass has it all.....
This is half the price of what it would cost you if Dan was still building. Not your basic Atkinson; it has the fancy top, Nordy guts, Hipshot bridge and quarter sawn neck.
This bass is as smooth playing as you can get. The neck is lightning fast and the P/J Nordstrand PUs give you a huge tonal palate. Absolutely no issues of any kind.
As new, not a scratch, dent or speck of dust on it. Beautiful bass.
Ash body
Flame maple top
59 burst
Quartersawn neck (same dimensions as a Lakland JO)
Maple board
Vintage sized frets
Tort guard
Hipshot A bridge
Hipshot tuners
Nordstrand PJ pickups
Nordstrand 2 band pre with passive tone control
(vol/vol/tone/bass-treble stack)
9 pounds 2.4 ounces (on my digital scale)
Gig Bag
The only change I made to the bass was to install a Hipshot A style bridge and remove the Gotoh bridge. I prefer being able to remove strings without having to pull them back through the bridge. The photos below show the Gotoh bridge but I will take some more in the next few days that show the Hipshot bridge.
