These are a little bigger than a EURO bridge, right?

Hmmm. I was thinking of changing my hardware to black, but mine's a CRFM and I see above they are somewhat different size. Can the US bridge be installed on a Czech bass w/o too much difficulty? Can you send me the center to center distance of the mounting holes on the brass bridge. Thanks!

Center to center on the 3-hole brass is 1.125"

Are you firm on your price, and can you take PayPal. The drilling on my CRFM is apparently the same.

I don't think the CRFM is the same (narrower like the EURO bridge). The NS bridge will be a little bigger.

Really appreciate the help here! I like to know what I'm getting into upfront. So, even though the mounting (three screws w/same spacing) is the same, the bridge will require mods/routing of the body to mount. I didn't realize that the bridge mounted in the body, I thought it mounted on the surface. Guess I didn't look at that closely. So, string spacing will be a bit wider at the bridge as well?? Any other issues

I guess if the bolt spacing is the same and the bolt holes are centered between the string mounts, then the string spacing must be the same. Duh. Also, looking at pictures I can easily see that the bridges are mounted below the wood surface. I guess I need to check with the luthier refinishing my bass what it will take, if he will do it, and see if the cost is worth it to me. Sure wish money was no object. I know what I want to do, but everything costs more than expected. Guess that is just the way things work. Then again, if money were no object, I'd just spec out a US 4 string the way I like and get one new. Unfortunately, that's not going to happen.

Honestly, all you really gain from the brass is added weight, which is why the new Helium (aluminum) bridges are so popular among NS-2 owners right now; if you need the extra weight to get the bass to balance properly feel free to keep pursuing that option, but you really changes tone-wise between the two materials.

This bass is rather heavy already, but I always thought the high mass bridges changed the tone. Although, I never really understood why that would be. Are you saying the tone will be the same with aluminum or brass? I want to change primarily for the look of the smooth black rather than the rough finish brass that is on there now.

Because of the added size of the bridge it shouldn't sound any different than the one you have now.

Are these two bridges the same size? I gather from what I am being told that they are larger than the bridge on my CRFM. Can you give me the length and width dimensions?
