I'm the buyer - this is the first of these bows I've used and I'm very pleased with how it plays. Certainly a big bargain, IMHO, compared to most other offerings I've played at this price point.

To the seller (if you're reading) - did you have it rehaired or did it come this way? The hair almost looks black and white and chestnut. Whatever it is, I like it, so thanks!

Glad you like the bow, Steve!

The hair appears to be exactly what we supply them with; the "mix" can vary a bit, certainly, but that bow has the same look to its horsehair as the ones on my shelf.

Are you still using the bow? If so, how does it compare to a mid-level pernambuco bow? My main stick is an Otto Durschmitt that I paid somewhere in the $600-800 range for.

@BassiklyAC, the bow lives with a student and his rental bass. In fact, I think both of my students who are renting from me are playing this same bow, one in French and one German.

I cannot tell you how it compares to what you play, but I suspect what you play is better because it's an entirely different class of bow. My opinion is that this bow is comparable to some bows costing 2x and maybe even 3x as much, but the only way to know for sure is to try it yourself. I can tell you that I've owned and played several bows in this very inexpensive price range, and none has come close to the Gollihur in my opinion. I haven't played anything for $300 and under that I think is as good as these, but in the same breath I have to say they can't compete with anything I've played in the $500-600 and up price range.
