This bass is a 1989 model. I am not the original owner, but it has been my go to bass for much of the last four years. The bass has some slight wear in the form of a few marks here and there, as is to be expected for a bass that sounds incredible and has been played, but it is overall in excellent shape. There is a small amount of fret wear, but not enough to prevent extremely low action.
I have fairly small hands, yet I have been able to play many 3 and 4 hour gigs using only this bass, which is only possible due to the low action.
Having owned a few Smiths before this one, this one is easily the most versatile of them. Not only can you dial in a classic Smith zing, but it has a very broken in nice round tone that is very usable in place of any Fender. This has not been true of most of the Smiths I've owned, some of which sound too sterile to be used for anything other than fusion.

As much as I love trades, I'm really looking for a straight sale on this one as I could use some cash for my own peace of mind.
