Got this beauty in a recent multibass trade and was looking to get back to playing a 5'er in one of my projects. This 55-02 is GORGEOUS with the quilted top and the cherry-amber burst finish, and is in pretty clean shape with no real dings anywhere on the body and only light swirling here and there. Very clean for a bass that appears to have been played a fair bit at some point... I see minor fret wear on the D string in frets 3-5 that are consistent with a slap aficionado, but there is plenty of fret left and they would re-dress nicely. And slap's something this bass does monsterously well. With a bold, focused B, 35" scale and nicely voiceable pre-amp this thing SPEAKS modern funk. It's pretty versatile all around, but for me, I am admittedly looking for something a bit less modern sounding. Hence my trade requests for a nice playing 5'er with a thin neck, in 34"-35" scale with passive electronics. I would prefer a Lakland, but would be open to other options.
