Man you have had some sweet Lakland's for sale lately, like this one!
Have always been a fan of the 55-02 deluxe with the black edged sunburst.

I was just about to post the same thing! I'm the lucky new owner of the 55-60 Custom Mike had for sale and I couldn't be happier! Awesome bass and an even better guy to do business with!

BUMP!

Nice bass! I'm quite interested. Can you tell me what is the string spacing at the nut?
I put P necks on Jazz basses because I prefer to play on the wider P spacing, and I want a fiver with wide spacing, at least not the narrowest spacing.

Thanks
Ken

I don't think I have the time to measure mine today, probably tomorrow.

I will say I love mine. It's been my number 1 for the last three years.

Yeah. I can't wait to get one, though I want to wait to get the cherry flavor body and rosewood neck 55-02.

My original question, likely not stated very clearly, should have been: what is the string spacing at the nut? One would think it would be easy to find that in half a dozen searches, but so far I haven't.

Just so happens that today I was playing a 55-01, grabbed a ruler, and in English measurements the distance between strings at the nut was 3/8".
That's center of string to center of adjacent string. After playing this one, I can't imagine spacing any closer even if the fingerboard grows into coffee table size. On the P neck that happens to be on my stand today, the spacing at the nut appears to be 7/16", though it's a Japanese P neck and the 7/16" wasn't dead on, so maybe it's metric.

Would you mind, when you get a sec, making the same measurement at the nut on the -02 and confirm or update us on the string spacing at the nut?

By the way, the set up on the 01 wasn't that great. You know that Garth Brooks line, "give me an hour and then...." I'd love to have an hour to try to set up the fiver to my liking. For now, I'm setting up a P neck Jazz with BEAD tuning to start to learn how to handle a fiver.

Best
