I used to own a natural Gibson-made Tobias just like the one in your photo. Sorry to say it was easily the worst bass I ever owned. It sounded pretty good, but the neck was so twisted. Not sure if it was due to the asymmetrical neck. The fingerboard dried out so much the fret ends were like saw teeth. The bass was like this when I got it. This was my first brand new bass (a long time ago). I was very young and didn't know how to pick a bass.

The bass was under warranty, but Gibson was pretty lame about helping me out. Ended up selling at a big loss after I got it fixed.

If you find one, be sure to get a pre-Gibson Tobias. Or, why not look into a Music Man?

First of all there is no pre-Gibson Growler. They are 100% a Gibson product. And since the OP wants a Growler, advising him to get a pre-Gib Tobias isn't relevant. Twisted necks were a problem for the Growler but no way did all have that problem. I've owned three Growlers now. Each had a fantastic neck. They are a very unique bass. To the OP: Hope you find a great one. They are cool basses.

I got a growler with the stacked knobs and switches I'm pretty sure it's older

I chose because it was a musicman style pickup but more in my price range

The stacked knob/switches is the older of the two iterations and the older stacked knob/switches is the version you want IMHO. Very unique preamp setup there. Both are Gibson products.

Duly noted. Growlers were Gibsons. My Growler must've been used to belt homers out of Yankee Stadium as my neck was just so poorly done and poorly maintained by the shop I got it from. Oh well, I'm better for having gone through that experience.
