DESCRIPTION The GBE 400 is the slightly less powerful sibling of the GBE 600 and delivers performance, power and features way beyond its affordable price. The GBE 400 offers the same well thought-out circuitry designs of our larger GBE 600. Both models share the same basic preamp, power amp and power supply designs along with many of the same features that make this series of bass amps an extreme value in today’s competitive market.

The sturdy metal chassis and attractive brushed aluminum front panel conceals some of the real heavy-duty components of the GBE 400. The double-sided PC boards provide the sturdy base for the preamp and power amp circuitry. This model utilizes the same massive heat-sink and "cooling tunnel" as the larger GBE 600. The power amp is a high voltage, high current pro audio based design that is driven by 6 bipolar outputs capable of driving resistive and reactive "real world" speaker loads.

The GBE 400 is capable of driving its full power output into a 2 ohm load, and for even further protection, incorporates our unique thermal circuitry, providing advanced notification of impending thermal shut-down, due to blocked air flow.

Rated power of the GBE 400 is 200 watts @ 8 ohms, 330 watts @ 4 ohms and 450 watts @ 2 ohms.

Big fan of this amp here, and I'll point out something if anybody missed it in the text - 2 ohm capable! I know a lot of people don't care/need that, but if you are like me with multiple 4 ohm cabs, this should interest you.

Everyone talks about GK 400 & 800 RB being work horses, well, here is one of the GB equivalents.

Exactly what is meant by jiggy with the DI? Can you explain that a bit more? Jack loose, snap crackle pop, cord won't stay in? Just wondering.

Thanks

The previous owner stated this,
I just plugged in a DI cord in to the DI output it seems the volume knob isn't the original therefore that seems to be what causes the interfere when initially setting that up once it's set there isn't a problem, ergo the jiggly or getting jiggy with it..

Trade interest added. If you have a Aguilar GS 112 bass cab with without tweeter lets talk!

Bump. Just my opinion, but to my ears still the best tone I have ever heard. I already have two, and if the shipping wouldn't kill me and the Canadian dollar was in better shape, I would have bought this on day one.
