Details

Hi guys I am listing my '78 Precision bass. This thing is in incredible shape! Everything is original; I had the tech take everything apart for my inspection when I purchased it. I can take pictures of the pickups, pots, and anything else for serious buyers. Only reason I am selling is because my new project requires a jazz bass. That said, I am most interested in trades for 4 string jazz style basses, preferably fretless. Brands of interest include but are not limited to: Fender (MIA,MIM, MIJ), G&L, Lakland, Ibanez, etc. Trades can be +/- cash. Please let me know if you have any questions! Thanks for looking. All specs are standard for a '78 P bass: 34" scale length, B neck, 21 frets, etc.

I also have a 78' that I just got through playing and it is the best P I've ever played and this one looks brand new. If you're looking for that classic Precision Bass sound these basses have it in abundance and this price is incredible.

Thanks Mjac! Yeah, at first glance, this bass would appear to be brand new. It really is in spectacular condition for its age

Hey sorry but I don't have a scale. It's between my Sire V7 (~11 lb) and my Road Worn P bass (~8lbs). I think it's about 9.5 lbs. Neck is the standard B width

Yeah this thing is about as clean as it gets for older Fender basses. It is a 4-bolt, take a look at "IMG_2034.jpg" for a picture. No weird 3-bolt micro tilt stuff to worry about as with the '78 Jazz basses. I am located in San Francisco area.

I saw that it was a 4 bolt. For some reason I thought the 3s went into the early 80s.

As far as I know, the 3-bolts were only used on Jazz basses. I've never seen a precision with the 3-bolt micro tilt. Anyways thanks for your interest!
