Details

Fender MIA Precision Deluxe 5 string (APDV, ADPV?)

Bill Lawrence P and humbucking J
Bad Ass V bridge
Active bass with 3 band eq, 18v
Very versatile bass, "Swiss army bass", p tones, j tones, active scooped tones, fret less Jaco tone.
22 fret
Really, really nice neck
Excellent low B
The bass is in very good condition. The only thing I think keeping it from excellent condition is one small chip on the side by the neck. See photo (My other used fender also had one in the same place, is that common or maybe it happens from guitar stands?) other than that there are a couple very small blemishes where the forearm touches the body, and on the back of the headstock

This is my first talkbass listing, though I have bought several things here. Please feel free to ask me anything, I am sure there's probably many things I haven't thought of. I am happy to give you my phone #, we can chat also Facebook if anyone prefers- I know if I was buying it would give me peace of mind :)

I am selling to fund my dream warmoth custom bass, but also a good jazz bass 5 string I would trade straight up.

Thank you for looking :)

Hey Thombo, thanks for hitting me up. As per the add, the trades Iam looking for are parts for a 5 string active j bass, though I am looking for specific items to build my dream bass- hence the sale of this beaut. Also I would put pedals towards the sale, i wouldn't mind a good volume, drive- swollen pickel or sim, another envelope filter, or good inline tuner, maybe a chorus, also maybe a pedal board w case is something I didn't list but have a need for. I see your in Denver, me too. If your interested Iam happy to meet up for a demo. Next tues I am going to Ny for a week, if not before then after that. I guess if there's anyone in Ny (city or Ithaca, also jersey for a day) I could bring it with, but I'd have to have a sale nailed down before I hassle with the airlines :)

If it was just the right jazz deluxe 5, or other super j, I'd trade straight up, but (I hate to say it) it's all about color and maple neck. Thanks for looking

I totally understand. I'm offering a sunburst MIA P-5 standard w/ a rosewood board or a fretless sunburst MIA P-5 standard w/ a rosewood board and a Nordy single coil in the bridge, but I see that's not what you are after. I don't have the $, so I'll throw mine up locally to see if I can make some fast cash. If you sell first, it wasn't meant to be.

I am curious, is there an active/passive switch of some sort?
Does it come with a case? If so, what kind?

Hey Thombo, Iam sure you won't have any trouble selling your fender basses :) So far I have had some interest, I still have a couple pms to respond to but I'll post as soon as she sells. There is a almost new guitar research bag I will ship the bass in, new to me when I purchased the bass about a month ago, but I did manage to break the font pouch zipper. Also, there is NO active passive switch on this bass. They added that to the newer ones but took away the 5 string. Before I decided to sell I though about adding, but I have kept this one original.
Thank you

Man... talk about a unicorn. P Deluxe 5 with Pau Ferro. Tell me, please, about the non original Bad Ass bridge. Did you install it? Can the bass still be strung thru the body? And, do you have the original bridge?

Hey The Nameless,
I did not install the badass bridge- the original owner did before me. It feels much better than a fender for Palm muting, and over all quality. You are not able to string through body as the Bad ass block those holes. It sustains nicely, tho, and the bass says " bad ass v" on it- drummer friend says that's a bad ass bass :)

Several offers, but Iam not in a hurry to sell. I lookd for this one for quite some time, Iam sure someone else will be looking for this specific model :) Pao ferro finger board- so I've read- I can't tell a difference between this and rosewood though. Bill Lawrence pickups (no longer in production) and bad ass bridge (no longer in production) as well as fender 5 string pj deluxe (no longer in production). I like that -"unicorn" description. Thank you all for looking and commenting. Iam headed to NY for a week, I can still communicate here, bass can ship out as early as 8/3
Thank you all

Hey Bro, I have a real nice, never-gigged Lakland 5-string 55-60 (Skyline) in Black w/ Maple Fingerboard (I assume you mean you want a maple fingerboard). It is still passive and still has the original fret-sprout so it will need some TLC. But the action is great.

It has two smallish shop-caused dings, more like a ding and a finish smudge. I bought it new but really need a P-bass for my Soul Band gig. Barely touched at all, I'm too hooked on my other 55-60.

I have a bunch of pics and will send if you are interested.

What I really want is an American Standard P V, so I might just decide to back out and pop for that.
