Purchased brand new in early 1997, and in excellent shape. I played this bass a lot for the first few years that I owned it, but it has just been sitting in the case untouched for well over a decade. It features a piezo pickup system and is strung with Thomastik-Infeld bronze-wrapped nylon Acousticore strings. The sound is very full and warm, much like an actual upright acoustic bass. I consider this to be a somewhat unique instrument, and was actually told that it was a prototype model played by Prince’s bass player at the NAMM show when I bought it (although I have no evidence of this beyond the salesman’s word). Original Turner soft case included.

OMG!!! That's the best fretless I've ever played! I've never seen these on TB ever! Haven't touched one since the 90s, but man, that left an impression on me.

Love these - beautiful! Can it be strung with regular electric strings or are the nylon cores required?
It came strung with the nylon cores and that's all I've ever had on there. Not sure if regular electric strings would work well, but my guess is they would be rougher on the fingerboard and would produce a much different sound.

+1 on the TI Jazz Flats... I have them on both my Electrolines.

You can definitely see the Alembic in there - very cool!
Or maybe you can see Turner in Alembic! I was doing the peghead backstrap overlay...which is probably what you're referring to...a year before I met up with Bear, Ron, and Bob. Exotic woods, too, though this Electroline isn't majorly exotic.

Seconded!
I played one at Bass San Diego back in the late '90s and it was the warmest, most buttery sounding fretless I've ever lain hands upon.
And the detented pots were a really cool, really smart touch as well.
Reeeeeely wish I had the cash to pounce on this bass :(

Rick! Your work is second to none! I followed your writing from BP religiously and any bass you've ever made has had the extra magic no other bass had.

I really wish I could justify taking this bass!

By the way Turner aficionados..
I’m keeping my eyes open for a fretless Renaissance or Electroline 4 or 5 string.
Please let me know if you have one you’d like to sell or know where one might be. Thanks! 😎🖖
