Details

Hi, I'm parting ways with my Yamaha BB3000a bass. Most of you already know how nice these Yamaha BBs are, so I won't bother describing too much other than what's unique about this bass.

This is one of the best playing, feeling basses I've ever had. I just love the playability and feel of this one. When I got it, it was missing its G tuner (see photos). I managed to find some true blue Yamaha BB5000 tuners and put them on so it's virtually original in that regard.

I also decided to upgrade the preamp to the Aguilar OBP-3. Make this one a powerful tone monster!

There are a few dings here and there, which I've pictured, but it really is in excellent shape! Has a relatively fresh setup with Dunlop Super Brites on it. Ready to go!

I'll include the original tuners and preamp, we well as including the gig bag it came with.

Trade wise, I'm only really interested in a 5 string. Feel free to hit me up with an offer.

$750 shipped and insured.

In the pics, back of the headstock - is there a serial number stamped and "made in ...." It doesn't show up in the pics. Could you show a pic of the back of headstock angled to be able to see the stamp where it says "Made in Japan" please? I always thought the models with that particular locking bridge were made in Taiwan.
(great bass either way)

Interesting. I could barely see it, can't really even picture it, but there is a serial number and it says "made in Taiwan." I guess I'll have to amend the description.

In my defense I did contact yamaha customer support last year to inquire and they told me it was made I Japan. See attached.

I don't have experience with those models, unfortunately. Especially the active versus passive older BBs. The build and playability on this bass is incredible though. It's one of my favorite players by a large margin.

Quick question, are you interested in the bass? Reason I ask is I'm considering taking the OBP-3 out and putting the original Pre back in the bass.

So, if you are interested in the bass with the current setup, let me know before start the surgery!

I don't know if you meant me,i was mostly interested in clarifying the previous question someone else posted about what the neck/body construction is. I'm pretty sure the 3000 is a neck through bass. I have a bb1200 that i'm pretty happy with,so i'm just a bystander in this.

Cool. Thanks for the response. Yes, I do believe you are right that it's a neck through. I will take a photo and post later tonight.

Can you tell from the photo that it's neck through as opposed to a set neck? That was my area of concern. Given the paint job I don't know how to say with certainty. Obviously a previous seller may have said it was but I don't want to pass along misinformation.
