For Sale or Trade. Olympic white / rosewood. 2015 Fender Custom Shop Journeyman Postmodern Precision Bass NOS.

This is a new acquisition for me and it plays and looks great. I am on the fence about selling it, but I have a bunch of p-basses and I need to sell a few before tax season. So I'm listing this one with reservations.

I would prefer a straight sale and will be very picky with any trades. I prefer 4 string, USA made basses, mostly with p-bass necks. Specific interests include vintage Fenders, Lull, custom shop, Ric, etc.

Here are the specs on this one:

Fender Postmodern Journeyman Jazz Precision Bass Custom Shop NOS Olympic White - Weighs in at 8lbs, 14oz with the pickup cover on

The 2015 Postmodern Bass is a thoroughly contemporary combination of Fender's two most time-honored basses. Its lightweight alder Precision Bass® body features a lacquer finish and comfortably contoured heel, paired with a quartersawn maple Jazz Bass® neck with a 1960s "U" profile and NOS finish. The compound-radius (9.5"-16") round-laminated dark rosewood fingerboard has a bone nut and 20 medium jumbo frets.

Other premium features include a hand-wound 1962 Precision Bass pickup, three-ply parchment pickguard, A-string Stealth string retainer, RSD bass bridge, and deluxe tuners. Available in NOS and "Journeyman" Relic® lacquer body finishes, the latter of which imparts the appearance of years of aging and light use without heavy wear and tear. Includes black hard-shell case and Custom Shop certificate of authenticity.

This bass has a great mix of vintage and modern features. The factory jazz bass neck is unique and very comfortable. It has some decent chunk up by the nut and flattens out smoothly toward the body. The bass was probably a floor model of some sort. It comes with all the case candy (all unopened except the strap) and the certificate. It is in good condition with 4-5 small dings through the finish - see photos.

Currently strung with Dean Markley Blue Steels (I just removed the original strings and plastic from the pickguard). Medium low action and can go lower. Frets are nearly 100% and it plays great. The handwound precision pickup is easily the best pickup I have heard from a stock Fender p-bass (excluding vintage pickups).

These sold for around $3300 new. Some links for your research:
