Hey all,
Picked up a gorgeous L-2000 on a whim. Plays great, sounds great, but I just can't keep it! If you want a top-notch American-made bass, look no further.
Some info (bits copied from G&L website):
Made in Fullerton, CA, USA
34" scale
4 strings
21 frets
10 lbs, 14.5 oz
Tobacco sunburst finish, on Alder
Rosewood fretboard
1-11/16" nut width
"Wide C"/#3 neck
BRIDGE: Leo Fender-designed G&L Saddle Lock with chrome-plated brass saddles
PICKUPS: Two G&L Magnetic Field humbucking pickups
NECK WOOD: Hard Rock Maple
ELECTRONICS: Tri-Tone™ system with 3-position pickup selector, series/parallel switch, 3-position pre-amp mode switch, volume, treble, bass
I don't know the exact neck radius, so I tightly wrapped a measuring tape around the neck and got the following thickness measurements. Hopefully they help give an idea of what size this neck is. It's chunky!
4-3/8"; at nut
5-3/8"; at 12th fret
Disclaimer:
- There is some oxidation across the frets, but nothing severe.
- The previous owner screwed a washer into one of the strap buttons. Easily removed, but will be left on for buyer to remove, at discretion.
- The case that the bass will be shipped in is an Ibanez branded case. It's missing a latch and otherwise kinda ugly. But, the instrument fits snugly and is still secure. This is the case that came with the bass and this is what you will get.
Here is a full-sized image. See attached for rest.
