Details

Up for sale is my Spector Forte SS. This was my main gigging bass for a little while as well as the former owner. With that, there is some player wear...mainly buckle rash. I’ve tried to capture a picture of it. It is really not that bad but want you to be aware that this is not a closet queen, it was played.

This bass has the wonderfully warm and fat Aguilar Super Singles and the Darkglass Tone Capsule preamp. With the warm nature of the pickups in concert with the cutting aggressive preamp, they are a match made in heaven. I much preferred this tone even over my NS 2’s. The master volume has a push/pull pot for active/passive mode. It sound fabulous passive as well. Tonewise, it can sound like a slightly warmer version of an NS 2 but has all the aggressive nature is so chosen with the Darkglass preamp. Where this bass separates itself is when the neck is soloed. It does an amazing P bass rendition but with more clarity, punch and sustain.

I’ve also upgraded to the USA Hipshot open gear tuners. They are light and very precise.

Additionally, this was the first walnut stained Forte the Woodstock shop ever produced. The bass weighs 8 lbs. 13 oz. with perfect balance and not a hint of neck dive. The neck is a D shape that’s pretty indicative of the earlier Forte’s. It has a little chunk to it and is definitely not a sword.

I do not have a hard shell case for this bass but it will be shipped with a very nice padded gig bag and packed to survive a nuclear event. I’m asking $1950 shipped to the lower 48 with no trades and paypal is fine. Please let me know if you have any questions.

My former main bass, and listed for a stupid good deal here.

The neck shape is the "Kramer shave" option

Here are some clips of the bass through some Darkglass gear:

And a clip showing how the Tone Capsule affects the tone v. passive:

The Forte 4SS is a great sounding bass.
It will also play great.

Husky123 takes excellent care of his basses.

Can't go wrong if you purchase this.

Haha. I do loves me some enablement.

Only enabling due to knowing from personal experience what a badass bass this is.

Definitely the best NS style Spector I've owned, and it's been more than a few ;)

That's the best part of enabling with Spectors. One doesn't really even need a reason. haha.

But in all seriousness, that it's the best you've owned...well, that kinda just makes this a complete no brainer....

 I'm super stoked. I haven't had a forte in the stable for quite some time, much less one with such a pedigree.

E, did you listen to the clips Matt posted? If you’re trying to get an idea of the tone, that’s what it gets with ease. It can get super aggro but at the same time have plenty of warmth. It has a rare sonic palette, indeed.

I did and was amazed. It's funny. My 8 year old's bedroom is right over my office. He was rudely awakened by that Pantera clip coming through my monitors yesterday morning. Loud, naturally. :D
