I have a lightweight beautiful looking, sounding and playing Lakland 4 string with an amazing neck and flamed top. I have too many basses, it is getting to the point where they're basically playing survivor and every single one of them is amazing. The ones that leave now are like the teams that lose on a last second play in a Superbowl, it's down to minute differences and preferences. I am getting older and have found I am developing a Spector fetish that is becoming irrational. I have decided to sell a few basses to try to get a US Spector.
This Lakland is in the top 5 of basses i've ever had. The thing I will miss the most is how runs that I really had to work at in the past are just so easy and fluid on the Lakland neck. The curvature is so comfortable and the bass tone is articulate even when using the P setting. I may be making a mistake here, the bass actually records fantastic and sounds great in the mix. In fact now I'm second guessing myself. My number one player is a Fender custom shop and this is a very close second for best neck. To me this is an elite all around bass and checks all the boxes for a ridiculously fair price.
This has the Hansen Lakland pickups/preamp, it is Volume/Blend/TR/BA/MID with a coil splitter that give you either rear pickup as a J or both as the MM....as well as pull up passive/active
