Seeing if there’s any interest in this. I don’t know it’s history at all. I bought it used about 15 years ago. I was told it was an 81 but when the neck was off there was no info. Sanded off years ago? Obviously a refinish, like a translucent stain. Looks grey in some light or olive green in other light. Unusually light for one of these: about 8.5 lbs. Hipshot tuners whose bass plates were smaller than the originals I guess. No case.
This is not a mwah monster at all IMHO. Sounds more like a thumpy upright or P bass. I was originally very disappointed with it wanting it to be a 2 pu Sterling (before EB made such a thing). Then I came to love it and it was my main bass for quite some time. The affair is over now so maybe someone else can have a fling with it.
Looking for a local sale at this point cause I have no case or box for it.

Thumpy fretless is right on, these get a fat tone on the G-string, works great for straight ahead jazz with both pickups on and labella's.

I agree though I used TI flats. Never had a use for either pickup soloed. Never used the bright switch or the infamous suck switch. I don’t know what Leo was thinking with the latter.
Would be a great bass for all kinds of roots, rockabilly stuff.

Boomers 95-40 , the suck switch pairs well with effects aka Ralphe Armstrong and Jean Luc Ponty.

Kewl!! That thing never had no E-fects and never played no jazz when it lived with me. It’s movin’ on up now!

Glad it’s got a loving home.

@Father Gino
Man this bass does a great Jaco voice, synth bass voice and sits nicely on some children’s music tracks. Thanks again
