I just bought this bass here on TB a month ago as I wanted to try a new Special 5HH. The for sale thread is here - SOLD - BETTER THAN NEW EBMM Stingray Special 5HH

I put it through the paces on several gigs comparing it to my current lineup of basses and it's a very versatile bass that can get you the tried-and-true StingRay tone, as well as in J and P bass territory (not exactly, but close). Beyond that, with both pickups on in position 3, this thing gets an absolutely wonderful slap tone.

Great bass that plays better than it looks, but I'm selling because of another opportunity on a bass and, like I knew going in, I'd likely prefer just the regular H over the HH when it came down to it.

A couple of notes about this bass: the previous owner had a tort pickguard made for it that I think looks killer, but the original black pickguard is also included if you prefer that. Also, the previous owner took this bass to Mike Lull and had the ends of the frets filed, frets glued in (EBMM doesn't glue frets in apparently), and had the bass PLEK'd. I actually had to raise the action some when I got. This bass has what seems to be a pretty common dead spot on the G string, 7th fret (my aqua sparkle 5H Special also has one). It still rings out, just decays faster than the notes around it. No chips, dings, or scratches that I can find, about as close to new as you can get with usual light signs that's it's been played. Ships in the OHSC and wearing a month old set of Elixir nickel plated steels. I'm not sure how old the EBMM Slinkies were when I got it, but I'll put them in there, too.

17.5mm string spacing
1.75" nut width
9 lbs. 6.5 oz.

That’s beautiful!

Thank you, I think so, too. I love the sparkle finishes EBMM did for these and, for me, the tort guard really makes it stand out, especially in person.

This one was tempting me before. A perfect list of modifications imo.

Yes, indeed. Bass plays effortlessly. I wish I could keep 'em all, but I can't.
