Not getting any movement on my other bass for sale so this is up.
A truly great Tokai P bass. This is more of a P bass than any other I've owned (and I've owned many). Classic feel and sounds just right. Some basses have it, some don't. This one has it and is like an old '57 P-Bass. It has a two tone burst fnish, alder body, gold anodized pickguard, maple neck/fingerboard - nut width is 1.65", classic chunky profile but not too much so, Vintage style bridge.
Some modifications: Original pickups replaced with Lindy Fralin's. Dead quiet and sound great! Original tuners replaced with Gotoh Res-O-Lites. Knocked 6 ounces of the bass now weighing in at a perfectly balanced 8 lbs. 9 oz. Stock weight just under 9 lbs. Original tuners and pickups included. Currently wearing some old labella flats.
Unfortunately someone, at some point, sanded off the Tokai decal from the headstock. You can still see where it says "Tokai", and this headstock is the mid-80's shape you'll see in Tokai catalogues. It's definitely a Tokai TPB '57. Doesn't bother me but it may you. The bass has some true "roadworn" wear. Nothing that affects how this bass plays or works but certainly not a case queen. Truss rod works and the neck is straight. Everything works exactly as it should and just sounds great. Frets recently dressed by a luthier and are in great shape.
