I just bought a couple expensive basses so something has to go. Don't really want to but you know how it is.
So up for grabs (unless something else sells first) is my absolutely beastly 93 Sadowsky Modern.
I owned this bass, sold it, regretted it, bought it back 2 years later and now am about to make the same mistake because of talkbass induced GAS. This bass had been played and there is lots of wear and tear but it is still absolutely stunning and the wear on the natural wear on the nitro finish neck is what every relic'd neck aspires to be. The neck is still smooth and very easy to play. These older Sadowskys have a killer neck profile that is slim and flat on the back. There is one good ding on the bottom of the bass that can be seen in the photos and most of the other marks on the body are minor indents or minor scratches.
A previous owner installed Nordstrand Big Splits in place of the original EMG's. I still have the EMG's and they will be included with the bass. The Nordys sound fantastic though. The bridge was also upgraded by the last owner. The original bridge was a Gotoh 206 which is a really finicky and ridiculous bridge. They have inherent problems and you cannot get parts for them anymore. When the one of the saddles died the owner decided to replace it with a Hipshot Kickass bridge. Back in the 90s many people swapped out the Gotoh with a badass. It is not a direct replacement so new holes were drilled (there is no direct replacement) but all the old holes are completely covered and the new bridge is amazing and adds to the bass. The old bridge will be included in the deal as well. I had a VTC installed the first time I owned it by a Sadowsky certified tech.
Not really looking for trades as I am recouping from the recent purchases but I will consider trades for Skjold basses. Of particular interest would be a whaleback or a slayer but I will consider other Skjolds as well.
