After a lot of thought, I've decided it's time to part ways with my DB. I have some medical issues (joint problems) and unfortunately, I just can't dance with this big girl anymore. I can, however play electric bass comfortably. So I'm willing to consider trades for electric basses that are equal or greater value. If you offer a trade and it's worth more, I can add cash-though please save the boutique basses. I don't want to add thousands.
I have a Shen SB80 in great condition. There are a few nicks that I tried to get good pictures of. Nothing serious at all. Also, there's a aftermarket screw in the A string tuning machine. It was replaced by Bob Kurz (Bob's House of Basses.) As for why it has the aftermarket screw, I'm not sure. It was there when I bought the bass. I bought the bass from him in December 2018. The bass hasn't left my house other than to go to my Saturday afternoon lessons.
I'm sorry to say, I have no idea what brand the strings are. They were on it when I bought it. I bought it as a complete DB novice. The only information I was given was "the string are appropriate for arco or pizzicato.")
It's a 3/4 bass. Comes with padded case, two carbon fiber bows (one French, one German.) The French bow has substantial use whereas the German was only used about a half dozen times total. I don't think I even broke a hair on the German. The French bow also has a hard case.
I will also include a Hercules stand and the three rosins I have. All three have been used but plenty of each left.
I also have to add, a pack of new weed wacker strings. I put the E string on the bass and plucked it a couple times, then removed it and put the old string back on. The other three have never been on the bass.
Finally, I will include my David Gage Realist pickup. I was sure I would need a pickup when I bought the bass due to some hearing issues. But after plugging in a couple times, I realized it wasn't necessary. So the pickup was used maybe three times.
I live in northern Virginia, just outside of DC. I also have a place in Shenandoah County, VA. I can meet within a three hour drive of either Alexandria, VA or Woodstock, VA.
Obviously no shipping.
I will do my best to answer any questions.
