ending up selling it after all....

I bought this from a TB'er several weeks ago. I am a long-time Mike Lull aficionado, and I've always wanted to try his T-bird pickups. This bass became my opportunity to do so. I've owned and played many Lulls, and this is truly a stunning representation of Mike's work. I can't imagine what the new price on this instrument would be these days.

Anyway, the bass itself is very much for me. But the T-bird picks up, while super interesting, are just not my sound. I feel the same way about P basses...I love/admire the tones, but they are for someone else.

I've attached a couple of my own pics, including a verification of the weight, as well as links to pictures from the previous owner and the Bass Shop Seattle, where it ostensibly made its retail debut.

The previous owner described the condition as "mint", which I'm always reluctant to do. But I wasn't disappointed in the condition in the least, and its condition hasn't changed during my ownership. Let's call it "excellent" with nothing to report. The action is set super low, and it's pretty impressive just how low it can be set. If I were keeping it, I'd probably bump it up a bit.

* Alder body
* LPB
* Maple board with white blocks
* Lull T-Bird pickups (hum cancelling)
* 34" scale
* 9V Barolini preamp (master, blend, vintage tone w/ push/pull passive, bass/treble stack)
* 8.37 lbs. (8 lbs. 5.9 oz)
* Hipshot hardware, including drop D tuner
* Comes with Mike Lull Contego bag in EC
* $2300 shipped to CONUS, price is firm..no hurry to sell...the only trades in which I might have interest are...Lull M4V, Sadowsky WL (4)...would have to be 8.5 lbs. or less. +/- $ as required. If you have something different you'd like to offer as trade, please put the word "kronus" in the message, otherwise I'll know you didn't bother to read the ad, and I won't respond.

By they way, this video was helpful for me in understanding what the T sound is all about. I actually am still loving these tones. But I have been in J land far too many years for me to feel at home elsewhere. Skip to about 3:30 minutes.

Let me guess; a 1 1/2" nut?

Yup - standard J neck. My favorite. I have 5 Lull basses in my possession at the moment, all with my favorite J neck.
