$1750 plus shipping/Insurance CONUS only. Comes with hard shell case in good condition.
I copy/pasted from the thread I bought this from because it tells a better story than I ever could. If you have any questions, please PM me.
From the original sales thread:
This is the closest possible bass you can own to an actual Wal in my opinion, for less than 1/5 of the price (a new MK2 with these specs would come in at nearly $10,000 delivered to the USA)
The ACG filter pre-amp is fairly famous in it's own right. It's basically a more diverse Wal pre-amp. It is a filter based pre-amp just like a Wal, with the Wal sound plus multiple more settings.
The pickups were built by Marko Ursing (A TB Member here, screenname: "MPU") who reversed engineered a Wal humbucker. Each coil of the multicoil pickups used 10000 rounds of 42AWG, same was the Wal spec. The pickups were made with with Wal size bobbins, wire and rounds.
I originally purchased this bass for $1700. The seller had it listed for $1600 and there was a bidding war, and i actually ended up purchasing it for more than asking price at the time. I then put in over $700 of "upgrades" listed below:
When i bought the bass it had walnut facings. I absolutely LOVED the bass, but the walnut wasn't my style. I took it to Southbound custom in Nashville, who does paint work for Gibson and custom jobs and had them refinish in a black poly.
It also started it's life with a "naked" fretboard. I had a luthier install mother of pearl inlay dots. The other modification i made was to have all electronic cavities shielded with copper.
As you can see a lot of effort was put into this bass, both by the original owner and myself.
The bass is in mint condition. Freshly set-up with low action and new strings. I have a video of the original owner playing it below.
