Details

1951 Kay C-1 bass. This instrument has never had a neck reset, or heel break. There are no visible edge issues, or any seam separations.
The instrument is fitted with a high quality Aubert maple bridge with aluminum adjusters. It has all it's original fittings.
It has the original, painted maple fingerboard, unusual, as these had Rosewood, typically. Once you play it, and hear it, you wont mind, I can assure you.
I consider this Kay bass to be in well above average condition, especially considering that it is 69 years old. It has some scratches and such, but nothing like some I've seen that folks are asking a lot more for.
It comes with a hard sided styro/ fabric travel case, not a gig bag. These run about $450. but this has one handle needing repair, and it's missing the wheels. Otherwise, the case is in good condition. As a string bass repairman, I can vouch for the structural soundness of this bass.. in fact, it's one of the very best sounding Kay's I've ever heard, and that, is a lot of basses. If I were playing more, I'd keep it. This bass will not disappoint.

I'm in south Reno, Nevada, very close to the airport.

. I will not ship this bass, unless an agent with cash in hand is sent to pick it up.

I'm asking $2,000.00 US., firm. If kept in this shape, it will only appreciate in value.

Sorry, I'm only interested in a cash sale, medical bills necessitate that. But thanks for your interest.
