I can't attest to the extent to which Fender made these basses as a light relic, but I thought those pics looked pretty darn good before I bought it and when I got the bass home I thought it looked pretty cool. The overall finish does not looked "distressed" to me but I'm not sure what standard we're using to evaluate that condition. It just looks like a vintage bass that's been played a bit-precisely what I was looking for in an AVRI Precision. Hope that helps.
