Details

Putting up my Dean Edge Euro Select 4 string electric bass. Beautiful trans blue/black finish that is hard to capture in the pics.

Late 90s model not to be confused with todays models. These models were made made in the same factory as the Spector basses. Very well made Czech European quality. Fit and finish are very good.

These models have EMG HZ pickups, 2 band active preamp, neck thru design with Wenge board and custom inlay.

Strung with new DR Black Beauties. Very good condition. Action is low, fret wear is minimal. Great bass that is not getting played.

Comes with original Dean hardshell case.

$550 shipped. Possible trade for a passive bass or semi hollow. Ideally looking for a classic series MIM jazz or will trade up for a roadworn.

These are FANTASTIC basses.

Get over the name on the headstock, and enjoy what is possibly the best bang for your buck out there.

Fast necks, good balance, well constructed, good tone, and they look good. This is the pinnacle of anything Dean related IMO.

I've had two (a 4 and a 5) with both active and passive pickups, and they're both killer. I think they have EMG circuits as well.

Agree. Thanks for posting the Dean ad. Haven’t seen one with this finish. Quality bass. Can’t find much about the preamp.

Only reason I’m selling is to fund a Spector purchase. As soon as the Spector is gone I will pull this off the market.

Agreed. It's a beast. Very well made. I grabbed a Spector Euro that's already been hot rodded so putting the Dean up. Only trade I'd be interested in is a Mesa Subway 212 or similar cab. Of course, I've been known to fall off the wagon and get sidetracked easily with cool gear :-)

Guess this is a mid-90s bass. These models were made made in the same factory as the Spector basses. Very well made Czech European quality.

$500. Will ship at cost.
if the first number is a 7 it is a '97
if the first number is a 8 it is a '98
if the first number is a 9 it is a '99
They didn't make these any earlier than '97

more catalog stuff

I own a Select and an Improv.
They're amazing
@NicJimBass and @Templar also own or have owned a few and can also attest to the quality of these sleepers.

I had an older MIK Edge Pro 4 that was one of the nicest basses I’ve ever played and regret selling it. These Euro Selects must be outstanding.

Thanks. SN starts with 95 so thought that was the year. So. It’s a 99
1999 is correct.
In 1995 Dean was still owned by Tropical Music and they were making things like the the DB95 and DB91 and had no Czech Republic affiliation.
Elliot Rubinson bought Dean from Tropical Music in 1997.
The Czech made basses are all sleepers.
They were made at the same location as Czech made Spector basses.

Super curious to hear what these sound like. I couldn't find sound samples anywhere on the internet!
