Fretless

I acquired this beautiful bass earlier this year but now I find myself with five fretless 5 string basses which is more than I really need. It's in very good shape with a few signs of having been played. I will be glad to discuss these in detail with any interested parties via Private Conversation.

The string spacing appears to be between 17.5 mm and 18 mm. It's a 34" scale and weighs 9 pounds, 9.2 ounces on my digital scale. It has a graphite neck (no truss rod) that has the perfect amount of relief. The body looks to be Cocobolo. Pickups are custom Bartolini and the preamp is an active 3 band Zon ZP-1. It will ship in its original, vintage style, Zon branded hard shell case.

If you were to have Joe Zon build this bass today it would cost in excess of $7K. I'm thinking it's trade value is about half that but feel free to contact me with any questions or offers. I'm willing to be flexible for the "right" trade offer. Lower priced basses + cash will also be considered.

Basses that might potentially interest me would be Nordy, Lull, Status, Fender (Custom Classic 5), Skjold, FBass, MBass, Fodera, STR, Dragonfly, Marleaux, Shuker, MTD, Devon, Pavel, Stambaugh, Brooklyn (Ken Smith Design), Yamaha, JCR, Xotic and Yamaha.

I'm open to trade offers for fretted 5 string basses that weigh less than 10 pounds (although the lighter the better)! I prefer 18mm string spacing with a 34" scale. String spacing of 19 mm or 17 mm will be considered but nothing longer than 34.5" scale (no 35" Scale).

Thanks for looking.

I tried a Zon fretless some years back and next to Pedulla it was my favorite fretless tone and easy bass to play.
If I was still playing fretless I'd be all over this.
Best to you and whoever the fortunate one is that get's this bass
