One of the most impressive instruments I’ve owned in my entire life.
I probably will end up keeping it since it was a big struggle to find and if you do any searching on these, they don't come up often.
Carl Thompson Full Frills / All-The-Frills - 4 String
Here are the specs:
-36" Scale
-7.62 lbs on my Rapala Fish Scale
-String Spacing is 17.5mm and adjustable at the bridge
-Nut Width is 1 and 5/8"
-Neck Profile - V Shaped / Pronounced U Shape, not C shaped or like a baseball bat....comfortable!
-Comes with an official Carl Thompson Gig Bag
This bad boy is super comfortable on a strap. It’s a very organic sounding bass. Pickups are Active EMGs. Both switches are 3-Way. The upper switch being a pickup selector Neck pickup/Both Pickups/Back pickup. The lower switch is Mute/On/Enhanced lows circuit sounds like an upright!
It’s very cool to see a wooden nut on a bass! Even the truss rod cover and cavity covers are solid wood. This bass has everything from a few species of wood: Walnut, Paduak, Bloodwood, Ebony, and Mahogany. As some of you know, Carl likes each instrument built with its own character and style so no two CTs are exactly the same.
Trades - Brands that interest me most:
Alleva Coppolo
Carl Thompson
Wal
Asking price is $10,000USD with payment via US Bank Wire.
