1988 Kubicki Ex Factor 4 Drop D, Fretless Bass, Black, serial #761 12 88 on back of head-stock.
Bought it directly in-person from the builder in Santa Barbara, California.
Here we have a Kubicki Factor Bass in 4-string format, with the Drop D Tuner and frettless neck It dates to 1988. Bass is a faculty-fretless, not a conversion.
I think the body is maple, It has a distinctive offset waist design and tuners at the tail. The neck is a headless design with an integrated Drop D tuner lever, and is made from laminated maple for stability and strength. The truss rod adjuster is at the very end of the headstock. The proprietary bridge with integrated tuners works very well, and tuning is smooth and accurate.
