*my first listing on TB - sorry if the formatting is weird or if anything looks off! PM me for more info or to chat.

For sale is my beloved Lull M5V, my workhorse bass for the past five years about. This is their five-string Jazz variant, made in Bellevue, WA at Mike’s workshop (RIP Mike Lull!) - I believe I’m the second owner.

Per Lull’s description, “M is for Modern, V is for Vintage” - my favorite part of this bass is how versatile its voicing is, flipping between passive and active modes to get the exact tone you’re looking for. A tour-ready (remember those?) player’s bass.

You can view full specs on Lull’s webpage for the M5V, but this one is has a Swamp Ash body, Maple neck, and an upgraded Birds Eye Maple fingerboard (see photos!). Bartolini 3-band preamp with mid-cut and push/pull on the volume knob to bypass the EQ and run passive! Bart pickups too. Early 2000's serial, verified by Spencer Lull.

35” scale. Noisy jack replaced about six months ago, and added extra shielding internally. Frets all leveled and PLEK’d at Lull’s workshop. Color is “70’s natural" and looks absolutely killer. I don't have a scale around, but I believe this guy to be around 9lbs - it's never burdened me even on long sets.

If you know about Lull then you know how reliable and capable these instruments are - and just so comfortable to play. Hate to sell, but need to make some moves to not have this year completely kick my ass - no trades.

The few love marks it has are pictured. Hit me up with any questions! Would love to keep this sale local to the Northwest, but happy to ship too (insured with FedEx, for free baby!). Will include pictured Gator gig bag.

Thanks!

These are beautifully put together instruments. They have a really nice feel in your hands and have the uncanny ability to make the 35" scale seem like a 34". And I always thought Mike made the right choice to slightly tighten the string pitch to 18mm - a very nice boost to the playability if you plan on playing the bass from top to bottom. Best of luck to all.

Edit: Is that neck heel tapered for accessibility? Love me some taper...

Can't agree more about the string spacing and scale - this Lull has ruined me for other basses in that regard. Yes to the question about neck heel! Indeed contoured, infinitely playable.
