Hello all!
Back up for sale...
2,199 ~ buyer to cover shipping costs. If ordered new, it is 2,900 from Lakland before tax, shipping, and upcharge for the custom pickguard....and the looooong wait.
So I present a mint condition USA Lakland 55-JJ finished in shoreline gold metallic over alder with a one off custom pickguard handmade by the builders at Lakland. The bass just received a set up, with a new set of Dunlop 'Super Bright' Nickel strings installed by my tech that I have not touched since picking the bass up.
Graphite reinforced maple quartersawn neck, and maple fingerboard with some nice figuring...PLEK'D and hand finished. Lakland vintage single coil pickups, and a rear route in the body if you decide to drop a preamp in. I will include the pre-cut copper shielding to make the job easier.
The Shoreline Gold metallic is gorgeous in person, and was sprayed very thin, as was the thin layer of poly to conceivably allow the bass to resonate a little more...and it does! This bass has the biggest, punchiest, and most even sound I have ever heard on a passive 5!!
You can see a very slight bit of the wood grain lines at certain angles, which I think looks really cool...like a vintage Fender with a nitro paint job, just not as extreme. Anything that looks like a scratch is just a reflection. There are absolutely no marks or dings of any kind on the entire instrument.
35" scale
19mm string spacing.
Weight is just over 8 pounds.
Mint Lakland hardshell case included.
I have the silver sleeve inserts for the tuners if you wish to change them back so they match.
Comes from a smoke free home, and has never left my home practice studio.
I also have a new, unopened set of USA Hipshot Ultralight cloverleaf tuners to fit this bass, if interested, for an additional cost.
Thank you!
