Details

This is a very rare and unusually beautiful 1995 Modulus Sweet Spot Q5 in like-new condition.

It's rare and collectible because the figured maple top is so striking! Also, it's the only Sweet Spot I've seen with EMG pickups and a factory installed 2-Tek bridge. Plus, the original owner of the bass (who sold it to me after a couple of months) won the bass in a Bass Player magazine giveaway in 1996.

The combination of the EMG electronics and the high-mass 2-Tek bridge makes this bass a tone monster...even when compared to my other Modulus Q5, this bass has a thunderous low end and the clear and aggressive high end that is characteristic of EMG's. 35" scale neck, string spacing of 1 3/4” at the nut and 17 mm at the bridge. The bass weighs 10 lbs., 3 oz -and about 2 lbs. of that is the 2Tek bridge!

It's in like-new condition. I can't find a mark or a scratch on it. The bass comes with its original Modulus molded hardshell case.

The figured maple top is spectacular.

I'm asking $3,200, shipped to you in CONUS. Not trying to make money on this one...but I would like to get close to breaking even on it if I can. International sales are fine with me, but you will be solely responsible for shipping and all other related costs such as VAT, import duties, CITES compliance, etc. PayPal preferred.

No trades, thanks.

Thanks for looking!

Gorgeous. Orange crush was my fave Modulus colour.

Nice! I have 1996 Q5-SS with the 2Tek bridge and the "turbo" option (second pickup). The low-end clarity and sustain of these basses is amazing. GLWTS!

Modulus said it’s maple and I agree with them. If you saw the bass in person you would agree with us. No question that the figuring is unusual, though.

I'm guessing Curly Maple Top!!!! I know in the late 80's early 90's they used Curly Maple Tops.
