This is a very interesting and lovely bass made in Meridian, Mississippi. It is a last model Dyna 5 in Pearl White (it has very subtle gold flakes in the white). The bass is in fine condition and has only a few small marks on it. It is rare to see one in this condition these days. The hardware is in good shape and the electronics work as they should. The neck is bi laminited with a rosewood fingerboard. The neck is very straight with little relief, low action and no ski jump. It plays wonderfully.
The electronics are unique in that it has humbucker PU's, is active/passive and the preamp has a dip switch with which you can alter the frequency of the mids. The controls include master volume, blend, master tone control, active bass-mid-treble controls and an active/passive switch.
I have played a lot with the electronics and have come to prefer playing the bass in passive mode with the blend slightly toward the bridge PU. In that setting it sounds very much like the Pallaedium....a very nice growly tone. I was able to set the active electronics to mimic the passive tone and the active controls will also give you the ability to shape the tone quite a bit.
The bass is 34" scale, weighs 8 pounds, 11.5 ounces. The string spacing is narrow and it is a really great playing bass with low action. Truss rod works as it should. The bass will ship in your choice of a non original hard case or a Fender gig bag.
The price is $400 plus actual shipping cost which should be about $90.
I own a Cirrus 5, a Millennium Plus 5, a GV and a TL 5 so this one is not getting any play time. It needs to go to someone who will put it to work.
